Delphine Guérou
Bio

Delphine aka “Flipper” Guérou is a French medical translator for the English and German languages. She studied translation, terminology and interpreting in France. She graduated in 2013 and the same year started working at GxP Language Services, a medical language services provider based in Germany, where she managed projects and translated texts from the cosmetic, medical, medical IT and pharmaceutical fields.

She used to work for the Alexandria Library, where she was in charge of customer relations, finding contributors, organising webinars and creating terminology resources. This allowed her to discover and love translation conferences, where she started giving lectures in 2015.

Creating your own terminology resources: from complex endeavour to childsplay

Presentation in:

TMs and glossaries have become a invaluable support for our daily work. However, many translators still consider converting glossaries and aligning files as complex and time-consuming tasks, whereas many user-friendly tools are now available. While creating terminology resources for my personal use as well for the Alexandria Library over the past few years, I identified several tools that were easy of use and made the whole converting process childsplay. In this presentation for both beginners and experienced translators, I will demonstrate some of them and show how they work. After this presentation, the attendees should be able to easily convert different kinds of documents such as Excel, PDF or Word files or even webpages to TMs and glossaries.
