BIO
Helena Cotovio is a translator, subtitler and proofreader. She has a degree in Translation/ Interpretation (2008) and a Specialization in Accessible Communication (2014), with focus on Audio-description for children. Working as a freelancer since 2007, she was also Materials Coordinator and Dubbing Control Specialist in Cartoon Network, when it started broadcasting in Portuguese. After that, she took the chance of starting her own audiovisual translation agency, known as Wordzilla, and she was the mastermind behind the first online training platform dedicated to AVT training and related software. When she is not stressing about errors in subtitles, you might find her fooling around with her family and 9 rescued pets, taking long walks at the beach… or rescuing another stray dog or cat.
