BIO
Susana Loureiro is a Portuguese translator, subtitler and project manager. With a bachelor degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures from the University of Lisbon, she started working in audiovisual translation in 2014. She has been a project manager at Sintagma Traduções since 2015. She currently balances being a full-time project manager with being a freelance AVT translator. Her main area of specialization is interlingual subtitling. She is also one of the founders and the current president of ATAV, the Portuguese AVT translators’ association.
ABSTRACT
In this session, we will talk about the entire process of working on a project, from getting it to delivering it. We will look at the differences of working for translation agencies and end clients. We will also approach the big taboo, prices, and how to calculate your rate. This session will give you plenty of tips for better managing and make you think about your professional life beyond the art of translation.
