The audiovisual industry today is producing more material than ever and the impact it has on our daily lives has never been greater. This increased production is thanks to technology, which has enabled the development of new cultural and trade links. Audiovisual translation thus takes on a new depth, without which none of this would be possible.

Audiovisual translation is much more than subtitling, it also encompasses dubbing and accessibility modalities, in particular subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, and audio description. The aim of this International Conference is to discuss all the paths of audiovisual translation that shape this reality.

Let us together explore the old and new paths and prepare for the future of audiovisual translation to the fullest extent, without fearing the unknown. Join us in Porto, Portugal, to break new ground in audiovisual translation, in what will be an historic event for AVT and its professionals!

Besides free access to all conferences and workshops on 3 and 4 April, your ticket also entitles you to the 2 lunches and 4 coffee breaks. It also includes all the merchandising material plus the badge, which you will receive when you check in at the event, and access to the final raffle taking place during the closing session on 4 April 2020 in ROOM 1 [ORANGE].

The event ticket DOES NOT include the NETWORKING dinner, for which you will have to register and pay separately.

4HOW TO GET TO ISCAP?

The APTRAD 1st International Audiovisual Conference Audiovisual will take place at ISCAP, the Porto Accounting and Business School, which belongs to one of Portugal's largest and most prestigious public Polytechnic Institutes, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP). It is located very close to IPP Campus, and offers its 4,500-strong student population a range of innovative undergraduate and graduate programmes in Accounting, International Commerce, Marketing, Business Communication, Management and Administrative Assistance and Translation, Creativity and Business Innovations (Joint Programme), Human Resources and Library and Information Sciences and Technologies. ISCAP also offers Master Programmes in Accounting and Finance, Auditing, Organisational Management, Digital Marketing, Logistics, Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation, Organisational Management, Logistics, Administrative Assistance, Digital Marketing, Business Information, Human Resources, Finance and Intercultural Studies for Business and Specialised Translation and Interpreting.

5DO WORKSHOPS REQUIRE SEPARATE REGISTRATION? HOW DO WE REGISTER?
Although these workshops are free and included in the ticket, you will need to register in advance for the workshops announced in ROOM 4 – WORKSHOPS as places are limited. If you register by e-mail to office.aptrad@aptrad.pt, you will receive a Workshop Voucher that you must hand in at the door to the APTRAD STAFF check-in assistant on duty.
6WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ISCAP TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR PARTICIPANTS TO MOVE AROUND IN THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS?
Besides APTRAD STAFF team properly identified with a SWEAT SHIRT publicising the event, there will be signs throughout the university pointing to the various event venues – CHECK-IN DESKS / ROOM 1 [ORANGE] / ROOM 2 [GREEN] / ROOM 3 [BLUE] / LAB 1 [YELLOW] – WORKSHOPS / ROOM 018 [PINK] - SPONSORS’ EXHIBITION HALL / RESTAURANT / COFFEE-BREAKS. All you will need to do is follow the arrows and signs!
7HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT RAFFLES BEFORE THE CLOSING CEREMONY?

To take part in the raffles, participants will need to place their visiting cards in the boxes available either at the CHECK-IN and INFO desk and/or at the box available in each sponsor booth/space.

All participants [including speakers, organization and staff] may participate in two different raffles as follows:

1. The PLATINUM and PREMIUM sponsors, who have their own exhibit booth/space will collect the cards directly from the participants who visit their space during the event and will raffle their prize (or prizes) among those cards only.

2. All other sponsors [GOLD, SUPPORTING, ONLINE], APTRAD (we will raffle 2 free pass for future events or trainings), and all other participants who offer prizes for the raffle, will use the cards collected at the CHECK-IN and INFO desk during the event for the raffle.
