Nádia Morais
Bio

Nádia Morais, ia  freelance translator specialised in finance and management who studied modern languages, journalism and management and has been translating for nearly 15 years. After working for different publications as a writer and translating on the side, she decided it was time to be her own boss and has been a fully-fledged freelancer ever since. She is currently based in Lisbon and works as a freelance translator and writer, specialised in management, finance and oil & gas.

She has also been dedicating her time to all things to do with sustainability in management, after co-publishing a book last year entitled The Sustainable Organisation. Nádia is a member of APTRAD and IAPTI and will look at how freelancers can take the most out of their potential to gain control over their finances, time and lifestyle.

The Free Translator: taking the “free” out of freelancer

Presentation in:

Are you a long worker, a hard worker or a high-flyer? Is your aim to get more work, better work or to achieve the best work-life balance possible? Get the tools to examine the way your freelance translation work fits in your lifestyle and take the most out of the flexibility that you have.

Most freelancers are no strangers to the reality of working long hours, the constant search for new projects and the uncertainty of what the future may bring. Time has become a freelancer’s most precious asset and enemy. While most will believe that freelancers have more time to do what they love, be their own bosses and chose their location as they please, this can create a fake sense of flexibility and end up working against them. The result? Freelancers who continue on their incessant quest for new work and new clients, the glimpse of a full-on schedule. Eventually, they end up deteriorating their business, taking their personal life on the way.

Find out how to boost your work-life balance adjusting it to your lifestyle, expectations and circumstances; get the right tools and gain control over your income, your time, your productivity, availability, skills and your value proposal.
